Watercolour on 600gsm cotton rag paper, framed in mid-toned natural wood. This is the iconic "Wanaka Tree" on a sunny winter's day, with the snowy Buchanan mountains in the background. This painting is from a picture I took directly after the huge snowstorm we had in June this year. What I love about this composition, is how low the snow line is on The Buchanans. It's quite rare to see them like this, and the crisp, icy tones of the snow juxtapose so well against the emerald greens of Mou Tapu Island in front of them.
